Book Club Camp
Summer, 2009
Held at Leawood Elementary (near 123rd & State Line)
Dramatically improve your child’s reading ability this summer!
With books, you can travel to foreign lands, discover magical places, meet new friends
and reconnect with some favorite characters.
This camp will focus on basic reading skills (vocabulary, spelling,
pronunciation, reading comprehension, and reading speed) along with fostering a
love of reading using arts, crafts, music, drama, and a lot of FUN!
- Book Club Camp is for students entering Grades 2—9 in the Fall. (Students will
be divided by age and ability.)
- Did you know that most students lose reading ability over the summer?
Pre and Post testing will document reading improvement. Reading progress is guaranteed
for students attending the full-day program.
- Each child will have the opportunity to work on basic reading skills
individually and at their own level.
- Two 4-weeks sessions are available. One runs in June and another in July.
Students can attend one or both.
- A significant discount is available for students on free and reduced lunch (see
registration form link to the right).
